7 Beauty Hacks you need right now!

Disclaimer: These hacks are based on personal experience and some research; these may or may not work for you. By no means am I posing or claiming to be an expert in this field. I have tried many things that have worked for me and I wanted to share them with you.

While most of us have that one friend who we run to for fashion and beauty advice, it’s also nice to head to our handy blogger friends who seem to sometimes give us just the right tips to follow!

Hack #1 – How to make your blush POP

This hack is one that is used by my favorite person KingK! Use an orange colored blush as base before you put on your regular pink blush, this will make the color pop if you have a lightly tanned skin tone.

Hack #2 – Fragrance that lasts for hours

I’ve been personally using this trick for as long as I can remember. Instead of bathing yourself in perfume, what you’ll need to do is rub a little Vaseline on the pressure points of your body like your ears, neck/collarbone, inside of your wrists, inside of your elbows and at the back of your knees and spray your Chanel No.5 or your fragrance of the day. This makes your perfume last much longer!

Hack #3 – COCONUT OIL

I could write a book on the uses of coconut oil, but for now you can forget about expensive make up removers and dab some coconut oil (I prefer organic coconut oil – Extra Virgin Coconut is Oil is available in hypermarkets for about Qr30 ) on a cotton pad and remove all your make up. You will find your stubborn waterproof mascara and waterproof eyeliner product easily breaking up and leaving your face! I love this one because it’s super easy, no added chemicals, moisturizes your skin and works for a girl on a budget!

**Also let me know in the comment section if you would like a post on the multiple uses of coconut oil

Hack #4 – How to clean your make up brushes

I know most of us fall short of making this a part of the beauty routine but cleaning my make-up brushes so important! Not washing my brushes on time has left me with super dry skin and uneven make up. I have learnt from experience so don’t make the same mistakes! I did some research on an effortless way to make sure I have squeaky-clean brushes and found baby shampoo to be a winner product to clean your high end brushes. Get a tiny amount of baby shampoo on the palm of your hand and rub your brush in circular motions! Clean brushes FTW!

Hack #5 – DIY lip plumper

All you need for this hack is your favorite lipstick/gloss and some peppermint oil, for instantly plump lips. What you will need to do is add a few drops to your fave lip color and VOILA! But do not add more than 4 drops.

Hack #6 – Reduce puffiness and swollen face in 5 minutes

Submerge a clean hand towel in a bowl of ice-cold water and then place it on your face for 5 minutes by the clock. It’s a perfect way to relax your mind and do some deep breaths. I can swear by this hack as it has never failed my puffy mornings and cranky mood.

Hack #7 – Toothbrushes for everything but your teeth!

Stray and baby hairs have been my nemesis! After going through the depths of the Amazon rainforest I realized the solution is simple. Toothbrush! Beauty experts say it’s okay to use an old brush for this hack, but I do not like the idea of using an old toothbrush. So for this trick I purchased the locally available cheaper toothbrush to tame away and brush through my eyebrows for a neat look. For the baby hair, spritz a small amount of hair spray on the brush and run it through your hair. But for eyebrows you could use a transparent lip gloss or even lip balm to make sure they stay in place all day.
